So, I have a friend named Jacque and she says that I am addicted to Carmex, and I keep telling her I am not.. (as I apply it for the third time this am)
Now I admit I will freak out a little bit if I can’t find my tube. I have been known to stop at the closest store and run in and buy a tube, only to find my lost tube in my purse when I am pulling out my wallet. I only buy it in the tubes, not the little white jar, I mean ugh who wants to stick their finger in a little container and get yucko all under their nails? Not me.
It does not have anywhere on the drug facts that it is addicting. It does say:
Warning: for external use only. When using this product avoid contact with eyes. – Well I have never used it anywhere other then my lips, and that is definitely external – makes ya wonder who called in that question to the company? “Hey can I use my Carmex on, in, or around my (fill in the blank)” ? I have never put it in my eye either, I have forgotten a tube in my hot car and then it is all melted and when I squeezed it out to put on my lips, it had turned into a liquid and half the tube was all over my chin, and drizzling down my neck, but definitely not in my eye.
It also says: Apply freely to affected area. Well I am one of those lucky people that get cold sores when my nerves get acting up. Every darn school picture had a cold sore in it…lovely eh? So I will freak out when I can’t find my tube and will actually bring on a cold sore, so I always want to keep plenty of them around. I think it is more being lazy then addicted.
So what if I have 2 in my purse, one in my desk drawer, one by the bed, one in the basket by the couch where the TV remotes go. That is just laziness, so I don’t have to get up to get my tube out of my purse, plus that is usually when I forget to put it back.
So I am not addicted and please don’t ever ask to use it, cause the packaging also says:
This is a personal care item, and should be used by one individual only…so ya gonna have to go buy your own.
Thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
What does it say about me that I was actually applying lip balm while reading this post? Let's see, I have one ON my keyboard, one by my bed. At least two in my purse. And that's only the 'active' ones, I also have backstock. :O)
Now, I have heard that Carmex is addicting only because the one of the ingredients actually dries out whatever you put in on; which is why it's good for cold sores. So, I think it feeds itself.
:O)
You are so funny! I like Carmex in the tube also and keep it in my purse and on my desk. Have you ever tried Melissa Supreme for the cold sores? It is a natural remedy and I buy it at the health food store. Not sure what it says if you google it, but it might be an idea to help ease them.
