Today was my downline meeting, and we had some fun chatting, not a whole lotta learning today, it was more of a fun meeting. But the girls did learn how to do the faux wood, and they made the card I had posted on my blog earlier. They had fun, and they agree it is very addicting.
The girls that were DIVA’s for the last quarter of 2007 stayed afterwards to make their cards.
These are the cards they made, all cased from very talented stampers.
The first one is cased from my good friend Karen Barber, she is such an awesome lady and a very talented stamper. This is using the black magic technique. It is so beautiful and it looks better in person.
The next two cards were cased off of Splitcoast Stampers. This is a great place to go when you are in stamper block.
This card was cased from Itsapassion, this girl is so talented too, you should check out her gallery. Her card is so much better than mine. I wanted to make sure to use only SU! products so it is a little different.
The third card they did was cased from TreasureOiler, and it is using the fun new Tart & Tangy stamp set, and the fun Summer Picnic background paper. We must all write to SU! to keep both the set and the paper for the next catalog.
So I want to start doing a technique tutorial once a week, and I am thinking Friday is a good day. That way if it is something really exciting, it gives you the weekend to try it out.
I was trying to come up with a fun name for it, and my BFF Tracy** thinks that “Freak Out Your Freak Friday”, or something like that might work.
I was trying to think of something that went with TGIF – like Tutorials Great Info Fridays – but not so much.
What do you think? Any suggestions to the Friday Tutorials name?
Anyhow, Friday came and went with no tutorial cause I have been cutting cardstock for days. Here is the piles of 440 cards I did for my class.
Here the cards are all bagged up ready to be handed out. I have a class at a ladies house on Monday with 11 ladies coming, and then the rest of the classes will be next weekend. Finished just in time for my Mum in law come, and then we are cruise bound.
I actually went and started tanning the other day, so I get a base tan before the trip.
Oh and one more thing I thought I would share, you know how you have a stamp set and it only goes in the box a certain way, otherwise you cant shut the lid, and you are cursing and screaming trying to get them back in? Well the stamp set Unfrogettable is like this, the blocks fit in the stamp box just one way, so instead of trying to remember how they go, I took a Stazon pad and stamped the image on the bottom of the box, and now I know where each piece goes. It is a little dark in the photo, but I think you can understand what I am talking about.
** So who is this BFF Tracy? Well here she is… don’t we look like sisters? I swear we were in another life. This is us last year on the Panama Canal cruise all ready for the mustard drill. I am partial to mayonnaise, but hey I don’t own the ship.
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, It’s gonna be a cold day tomorrow in Arizona.
OMG! Too funny, when I did spell check it does not like the word gonna, it wondered if I meant gonad – well no Mr. Checker, I certainly did not, and ya sure got the balls to ask me!
Thanks for stopping in.
Hugs, Di
I see you live in West New Mexico aka San Tan Valley and I live in East L.A. aka Buckeye.
I just found your blog via Kimscreativeniche and I just want to say you are hysterical. I love the comments about gonads.
I am going back to the beginning of your blog and reading all your posts. I absolutely do not like my job so I read when I should be working. I know, not good and please don't spread the word.
I am going to sign with my lady in Buckeye with Stampin' Up. I just haven't decided if I should wait until July 1st or sign up now. I am super excited to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrater.
Anyway, thank you for all your funny comments and I think your girls are beautiful and Toby is a doll.
