Chocolate Never Looked So Good

This 'n' That

15 Feb

Tomorrow is the big day, the last Stamp & Scrap University. These have been fun to put on, but a lot of work.  I am looking forward to Spring Fling in May, these events are a lot of fun too, but more laid back and not as much time to prepare for the event.

I finished the last of the Thank you gifts last night, or was it this morning?  I’ll sleep next week…ha!  I ordered these rectangle tins from Specialty Bottle Company after seeing such fun ideas on Splitcoast Stampers.  I also ordered some 2 oz tins, and some cute square bottles with hinged toppers.  Those will be for upcoming classes, (not my Sale-A-Bration class though, that is a whole other 3-D item in the works).

Anyway, the tins are so cute and filled with chocolate makes them even sweeter. Pics_for_blog_ssu_thankyous_002 I just cut the East Coast Prep background paper to 3×1 strips and wrapped them around Hershey Nuggets, and that was it.  The belly band around the tin might need to be made bigger after all the chocolate is eaten…get it? belly band…ok never mind….I am functioning on not tons of sleep.  Anyway, the belly band is just crimped Tempting Turquoise cardstock, with some Wild Wasabi striped ribbon on it.

The flower could not be simpler, just punch Real Red card stock with the scallop punch, then the 1 1/4" punch is in More Mustard, I stamped Circle of Friendship (the Thank you greeting one) in Whisper White craft ink on Basic Black card stock and punched it out with the 1" circle.  I crimped some Wild Wasabi paper, and punched it out with the small oval, and made the leaves, and just mini glue dotted them to the back. Then I stuck the flower on the strip of card stock with a jumbo glue dot, this way the belly band can be slid on and off, and after the tin is empty can be used to store anything.  It was fun, and did not take too long, if you just made ONE. I had to make 12 though, so it took some time (I think 2 episodes of Reba, a 2 hour Lifetime movie, and half of a Will and Grace!), the longest was wrapping the chocolates…and can I hear a "Good for You!" I only ate one! Caffeine, I have figured out, gives me headaches, so I have to really want that chocolate or cup of coffee, because I pay for it later.

Pics_for_blog_ssu_thankyous_001 Pics_for_blog_ssu_thankyous_003 I have the mailboxes loaded with chocolate and all boxed up and ready to go, I just need to find a box to put the Rectangle Tin chocolate boxes in so they dont get smashed.

I have 2 club orders and my Pun Fun class being delivered today so that will give me some more boxes.

Today will be all the last minute stuff to do, that I put off so I was not making the gifts the night before the event, and then I am definitely going to bed early tonight.

Have a super day, and thanks for stopping in.

Hugs, Di

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
